Job Description
The Phlebotomist I position is a key role that contributes to our team by performing various assigned duties such as troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for conducting blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and updating patient information. You will also be tasked with collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures. This position includes explaining the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection methods to patients in a clear and courteous manner. You will be required to accurately label and package specimens for transport, maintaining the integrity of the specimen. Compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations is a must, and attendance at annual department trainings is required.
Hard Skills
Valid Phlebotomy certification (as required in some states)
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
High School Diploma or GED
Soft Skills
Ability to explain complex procedures in a clear, patient-friendly manner
Ability to comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

This is a contract position with a duration of 13 Week(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Fern Park, Florida.
Work Environment
This role is in a fast-paced lab setting and may require interacting with patients and handling biological samples. It requires adherence to strict protocols and compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations. This position may also require occasional troubleshooting and workflow recommendations, and regular participation in training sessions.
