Actalent Project Specialist in Altamonte Springs, Florida

Job Description:

Looking for Project Specialist Architects to join their team. This person will initially support a large retail program and later will have the opportunity to support a variety of commercial projects. They will have the opportunity to support projects from conception through completion. Their initial responsibilities will be producing construction documents, with future tasks and professional development in design, construction administration, project management, etc. This position will also be involved in coordination with consulting engineers.

  • Planning/Scheduling

  • Review requirements of work assigned (analyze and plan specifics) to make most efficient use of resources and to avoid wasted effort; notifying the project lead of any conflicts.

  • Adhere to daily schedules and directions from Job Captain/Project Manager/Project Director relative to assigned work/tasks.

  • Keep a running list of project questions as project is developed. Questions to be reviewed and answered by the project lead.

  • Production

  • Complete drafting assignments with a high degree of technical skill, quality, accuracy and speed.

  • Work with/within other internal departments and other teams as directed by Job Captain/Project Manager/Project Director.

  • Utilize CADD skills as trained and required to complete work assigned by Job Captain/Project Manager/Project Director.

  • Utilize Photoshop and/or other 3D rendering programs to develop conceptual schematic materials required for the assigned project.

  • Quality Assurance

  • Follow firm’s office standards for production drawings.

  • Check own work; correct errors prior to releasing sheet/drawings as required.

  • Communication

  • Advise the project lead of any questions, problems and/or necessary changes as they occur.

  • Advise team members of specific changes as directed by the project lead.

  • Notify the project lead of known dates and times that might affect the completion of a specific job assignment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school of Architecture

  • Entry level to 3 years of experience working for an Architectural firm, preferably retail or other commercial experience.

  • Proficiency in Revit (experience or formal training.

  • Rendering or Photoshop experience is a plus.

  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and strong communicator.

  • This office was established in the last 2 years, with an already established portfolio of business, so this person would have the opportunity to come in on the ground floor, help grow the operation, and quickly advance their career as the office grows.

  • Their work environment is relaxed, flexible and employee friendly. The culture is that of a small company, with little to know red tape or drama that comes with working for a large firm. Small firm experience, with the backing of a 95 year old 110 person company.

  • All hires in this new office will receive brand new equipment and technology

  • This person will have the opportunity to touch every aspect of a project, from concept to completion, including CDs, CA, client relations, working with consulting engineers, etc.

  • The Principal has very diverse experience and a passion for developing new architects. They provide the mentorship and materials needed to help their employees obtain their license.

  • This position pays time and a half for overtime, 6 paid holidays, and 80 hours of PTO accrued per annum

  • They pay discretionary bonuses in summer/winter based on company performance.
