Actalent Design Engineer in Amherst, New York

Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a seasoned Design Engineer with a solid background in engineering and a passion for product development. This role will involve creating and revising Solid Works 3D models, bills of material (BOM), 2D drawings, and various documentation for new and existing product lines. You will be part of a dynamic new product development team where your expertise will be critical in contributing to the design for manufacturing (DFM) and service (DFS).

Hard Skills

  • Bachelors in Engineering

  • Experience with Solid Works 2D and 3D

  • 10+ years experience in designing assemblies including sheet metal, frame structures, plumbing, and electrical components

  • Experience in creating engineering change requests (ECR), engineering change notifications (ECN), revising BOM, work instructions, and other design documentation

Soft Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical components, piping systems, pumps, motors, controls, or other industrial equipment components

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lancaster, New York.

Work Environment

We provide a clean manufacturing environment. While our work is considered industrial, it is more aligned with the IT realm.
