Actalent Phlebotomist in Ashland, Kentucky

Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

The primary role of this Phlebotomist will be to perform blood draws using straight needles. The individual will act as a representative on-site at a doctor's office, and should be prepared to travel to a client assignment within a designated region at short notice. The successful candidate will greet customers courteously and ensure all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time. The Phlebotomist will also be responsible for explaining the process of venipuncture or other specimen collection (urine or fecal) to patients. Disposal of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue will be done in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies. The Phlebotomist will also enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into the computer, communicate with clients to confirm orders, and package specimens for transport.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Ashland, Kentucky.

Work Environment

The successful candidate will be providing services at doctor's offices, helping a wide range of patients. The working hours will be from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. The home office will be located in Ashland, KY with travel to locations including Greenup, KY, Belpre, OH, and Mason, OH.
