Actalent Microbiologist in Ayer, Massachusetts
Job Description
As a Microbiologist, you will be responsible for conducting general and specific microbiological tests on food products, including pathogenic micro testing under the guidance of the Quality Assurance Supervisor.
Your role includes obtaining samples from production, preparing samples for micro testing, and performing media preparations as directed.
You will count and record micro plate counts, assist in sample processing from receipt through testing, ensure accurate data entry, and maintain thorough documentation as per established SOPs.
Adhering to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good laboratory practices (GLP) consistently.
Qualifications
• 1 -2 years micro test or food analysis lab experiences and basic knowledge of microbiology
• Prior QA/QC experience in food manufacturing is a plus
• B.S. degree in food, chemistry, microbiology, biology or related is required
Work Environment
This role is fully onsite and requires leading a team of 10 individuals. You will report to the QA Supervisor. The position is for the second shift (4:00 PM - 12:30AM). The environment is team collaborative and business casual.
