Actalent Distribution Engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Title: Distribution Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking candidates with an Engineering degree to work as Distribution Engineers and Technicians, focusing on Duke Energy Distribution projects, specifically the Power Up project. You will be trained by two high-level distribution engineers. Your project work will include performing engineering calculations such as: structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices. You may also be responsible for preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, development of a Bill of Materials (BOM), estimating costs, etc. All projects will be related to electric power distribution and leadership, with a specific focus on make-ready and smart antenna tasks. Your daily routine will consist of 90% design development and coordination, and after several months on the job, 10% of your time will be required for field work.
