Job Title: Sr Transmission Line EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a seasoned Sr Transmission Line Engineer to work under the direction of Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers. The successful candidate will independently evaluate, select and apply engineering principles and practices relevant to the project requirements. They will be responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project, as well as determine the design approach and work with the design team to prepare required design documents. They will also monitor project execution milestones and schedules to ensure projects are completed on time, and follow up on construction issues with design staff to resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner.

Hard Skills

• Independent evaluation, selection and application of engineering principles

• Defining project objectives, preparing design estimates, and defining project requirements and design approaches for large or complex projects

• Determining design approach and preparing required design documents

• Conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project

• Preparing and verifying calculations using engineering formulas and skills or application specific software as required

• Managing assignments of other design team members to ensure adherence to scope, schedule and budget

• Directing project design teams comprised of engineers, designers and technicians on a single project

• Monitoring project execution milestones and schedules to ensure projects are completed on schedule

• Performing technical and coordination checking/ review of deliverables and other project documents

• Ensuring deliverables comply with Business Unit procedures and meet applicable design requirements

• Following up on construction issues with design staff to resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner

• Identifying conflicting design or schedule requirements and generating Project Deviation Notices in a timely fashion

Soft Skills

• Independently working under the direction of Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers

• Exercising judgement in the independent evaluation selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria

• Supervising less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on an assignment basis

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
