Medical Assistant

Job Description

As a Medical Assistant, you will manage the check-in and registration process, interview patients, measure vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and record information on patients' charts. You will also draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, you are responsible for preparing treatment rooms for examination of patients, registering patients upon arrival, creating new patient charts, and updating existing charts. The role equally divides between front office and back office duties. You must be able to travel between different clinics within a 30-mile radius as needed.

Hard Skills

  • CCMA or RMA active certificate

  • Current BLS through American Heart Association or Red Cross

  • Point of Care Testing

  • Basic Medical Assistant duties

  • Quick typing, basic computer knowledge

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Soft Skills

  • Detail-oriented

  • Able to rely on experience and judgment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Work Environment

This role is set in a fast-paced, urgent care clinic environment. You must be responsible for checking in patients as they arrive and rooming them. The position requires comfort with working at multiple locations within a 30-mile radius. Flexibility is crucial as location changes may occur last minute. Each clinic location is set up identically, ensuring a smooth transition between sites. Transportation should not be an issue when traveling to different centers. Lunch breaks are distributed in increments throughout the day to ensure the clinic is not unattended for long periods. Training will occur during the first three weeks, starting at the Chesterfield location before moving to any of the 23 locations depending on trainer availability. A reliable mode of transportation is essential
