Actalent Accessibility Architect in CHICAGO, Illinois

A mid-sized Architecture firm in Chicago is looking to add an accessibility focused Architect to their team!

Job Description:

  • As-built verification of accessibility conditions related to site improvements including, but not limited to:

  • Accessible parking stalls

  • Parking stall passenger loading zones

  • Ramps and level landing areas

  • Truncated dome placement

  • Railing if required due to ramp conditions

  • Edge protection or drop-off grades adjacent to path of travel

  • Trip hazards along path of travel

  • Door push/pull measurements

  • Reporting and documentation of existing conditions

  • Provide design solutions to remediate non-compliant conditions

  • Scope modification requested by client's internal designers to meet project specific accessibility guidelines

  • Preparation of construction documents for approval through entitlements and permitting

  • Preparation of Issued for Construction set

  • Construction Administration tasks including addressing RFI's, reviewing shop drawings, and submittals

  • Punchlist site visits

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Architecture

  • Advanced ADA knowledge

  • 2+ years of experience

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
