We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Grandview, OH. Our company has been a leader in innovative technical solutions for the grain-based food industry for nearly 100 years. We design, manufacture, and service industrial baking equipment. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the entire cradle-to-grave process of equipment from conception to commissioning.
Responsibilities
Work with customers to understand their needs for baking equipment and create concepts based on their requirements.
Allocate approximately 40% of the role to mechanical design, 40% to project management, and 20% to travel and field work.
Manage projects from inception, including quoting, designing components, purchasing, and maintaining customer relationships.
Utilize 3D model design software and AutoCAD for 2D drawings, including P&IDs and plant layout drawings.
Oversee vendor management, equipment redesign, purchasing parts, and managing installation and commissioning teams.
Travel approximately 20% of the time to customer sites for installation, troubleshooting, and follow-up training.
Essential Skills

Experience with Autodesk Inventor

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associates or technical degree required; BSME preferred
At least 1 year of professional experience in a mechanical design engineer role, preferably 2-3 years
Experience with liquid handling such as water, edible oils, or similar (e.g., piping design or molten steel handling)
Understanding of motor drives and shaft operations
Experience with AutoCAD and access to Inventor software
Work Environment
