Job Title: Architectural Project Manager

Job Description

The Architectural Project Manager serves as a people and project leader, overseeing multiple projects and participating in marketing pursuits to ensure advantageous outcomes for both OBA and our clients. Reporting to a Principal, you will participate in business development efforts to support increasing revenues and maximizing profitability by establishing and nurturing beneficial partnerships. You will estimate fees, determine scopes of work, assist throughout the proposal development and writing process, and manage contracts for some of our most intricate projects. You will also manage others and play an integral role in the development of junior team members. In this position, you will work independently and manage extraordinarily complex, moderate to large size projects.

Hard Skills

  • Thorough understanding of current trends and areas of growth within the architectural industry

  • Deep expertise in your design specialty

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, the Microsoft Office Suite, the Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp

  • Deep knowledge of industry standards and building codes

  • Ability to work across a wide range of areas within the building design environment

  • BS (and/or MS) in your field of expertise

  • At least twelve (12) years of architecture experience

  • Professional licensure (RA) preferred

  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation preferred

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Ability to foster a creative design environment

  • Ability to collaborate productively with multidisciplinary team members, consultant groups, and stakeholders

  • Ability to oversee all aspects of assigned projects, including team leadership and coordination

  • Ability to build and enhance client relationships

  • Supervisory skills, including recruitment and retention of talent

  • Ability to engage and foster the growth of team members

  • Ability to influence people through effective communication

  • Ability to promote justice, diversity, and fairness in the organization

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Durham, North Carolina.

Work Environment

After 3-6 months of 'fitting in' and getting comfortable amongst the team, there will be more WFH flexibility. Additionally, the PM role will require the individual to be in front of clients and customers more frequently than a PA or Designer.
