Actalent Designer in Fort Monroe, Virginia

Job Title: DesignerJob Description

We are seeking a full-time, in-house Designer to support the preparation of Technical Working Documents (TWD) such as job summaries, task group instructions, and deficiency forms. The role involves ordering materials, services, and rental equipment for ongoing and upcoming projects, conducting ship checks for interferences, developing estimates, and issuing technical documents. The ideal candidate will be proficient in using various technical and management systems including AIM, ATIS, TIM, HAYSTACK GOLD, IPI, NNSY Documents, CITIS, CVLI, Maintenance Standards, Tech Manuals, CSMP, and Microsoft Office.

Hard Skills

  • ET1 design or field engineering (10 years experience, 7 years with CVN68/CVN78)

  • Proficiency in AIM, ATIS, TIM, HAYSTACK GOLD, IPI, NNSY Documents, CITIS, CVLI, Maintenance Standards, Tech Manuals, CSMP, Microsoft Office

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Detail-oriented

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Fort Monroe, Virginia.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA.
