Job Title: Senior Software Development Engineer

The world’s leading supplier of(IFEC) in-flight entertainment and communications systems that allow airborne passengers to get their fix of live TV, movies, music, interactive games, maps, and much more is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join their team based in Orange County. Individuals will be key

members in a new project to be delivered with collaboration with AirBus, exciting opportunity to virtualize and update existing services for the requirements provided by Airbus.

Role Overview:

As part of our ongoing efforts to foster innovation and maintain our competitive edge, we are seeking a highly motivated Junior Software Development Engineer with a solid foundation in C++, and Linux. This role is crucial for supporting our development teams and contributing to the advancement of our software solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, integrate, and verify software applications and tools using C/C++ under Linux and Windows OS.

  • Enhance, optimize, and improve efficiency and robustness of existing software.

  • Participate in requirements analysis, architecture, and design processes.

  • Create and document system-level solutions, including Requirements, Interface Control Documents, and Detailed Design Documents.

  • Collaborate with multiple development teams.

  • Review, evaluate, and analyze test plans and procedures.

  • Support system test programs, analyze results, and improve overall system quality.

  • Lead and provide technical guidance to engineers, designers, and support personnel.

  • Participate in a complete software development lifecycle using SAFe methodologies.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • Strong proven experience in C++ programming languages.

  • Deep knowledge and experience in real-time multi-threaded embedded software.

  • Proven experience in development under Linux.

  • Experience in socket programming, IPC, and PUB/SUB architecture.

  • Working knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/UDP/IP/HTTP/SNMP/DHCP/DNS) and VLANs.

  • Familiarity with networking switching and routing concepts (firewall, IPsec, tunneling, etc.).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, context switches, and efficiently use shared resources.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment following SAFe software development principles.

  • Proficiency in continuous integration/continuous deployment and test-driven software development.

  • Strong engineering communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Ability to lead, break down software tasks, and mentor less experienced team members.

  • Knowledge of the latest C++14/17 and later versions is desirable.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).

  • 12+ years of experience in software development.

  • Agile/Scrum/SAFe certification or proven experience practicing Agile software development principles.

Additional Information:

  • Compensation: $150,000 to $180,000 per year ($70-$87 per hour)

  • Work Site: Irvine CA location. Hybrid schedule
