Actalent Medical Assistant in Jacksonville, Florida

Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for check-in procedures, obtaining patient information such as height, weight, and medical questionnaire responses, recording vital signs including blood pressure, and assisting the physician with various tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient check-in procedures and obtain necessary information.

  • Record vital signs such as blood pressure, height, and weight.

  • Assist the physician with patient examinations and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure patient information is up-to-date.

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.

  • Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation.

  • Manage phlebotomy tasks and other related medical procedures.

Essential Skills

  • Certified/Registered Medical Assistant in the state of Florida is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.

  • Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system.

  • Ability to take and record vital signs accurately.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Positive attitude and compassion towards patients.

  • Confidence in working with demanding providers and patient load.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in primary care, internal medicine, or pediatrics is a plus.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Experience in medical assisting, phlebotomy, and electronic health records.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.

Work Environment

This position is based in a fast-paced primary care clinic that services 120-140 patients per week. The team includes 7 physicians and several other specialty providers, supported by 7 Medical Assistants, 2 Check-In Associates, 2 Check-Out Associates, 2 Medical Records Clerks, 1 Office Float, and 4 nurses. The majority of patients are Medicare recipients.
