Job Title: ChemistJob Description
The chemist performs physical and chemical analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished products using analytical techniques such as FT-IR, HPLC, Conductimetry, TOC, and Refractive Index following SOPs. Responsibilities include preparing samples for analysis with aseptic techniques, creating and maintaining laboratory record documentation, preparing COAs, and participating in laboratory result investigations. The role also involves preparing and standardizing volumetric test solutions, procuring laboratory supplies, and supporting quality investigations by reporting nonconformances and assisting in investigations.
Hard Skills
BS in science major or extensive equivalent experience
3+ years in microbiology or 3+ years in chemistry
Experience in a pharmaceutical or medical device facility
Experience in cGMP and Quality Systems
Proficiency in FT-IR, HPLC, Conductimetry, TOC, and Refractive Index
Soft Skills
Ability to handle a very fast-paced environment
Flexibility and ability to wear multiple hats
Strong documentation and communication skills

This is a fully on-site position in Lawrence, Kansas.
Work Environment
The work environment is very fast-paced, requiring the ability to adapt quickly and efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Despite being an established company with around 120-130 employees, the atmosphere retains a startup vibe with the expectation to wear multiple hats. The company is gearing up to go commercial with a product by the end of Q2 2025.
