Actalent Manufacturing Engineer in Lenexa, Kansas

Actalent is currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer who is passionate about the aerospace industry for a client in Johnson County. Qualified candidates must have hands on process improvement experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment.

Description:

Apply concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools to promote and implement changes in manufacturing operations. Checks manufacturability of existing products and implements manufacturing processes and changes to improve products and reduce costs.

  • Use DFM Techniques to assist Product Engineering on the development of new products and the redesign of existing products.

  • Writes and/or modify manufacturing work instructions and acceptance test procedures.

  • Plan the sequence of operations and procedures and document manufacturing standard work.

  • Design systems processes and equipment to increase efficiency, decrease costs, and improve the quality and reliability of product.

  • Design tools and fixtures for production and acceptance testing.

  • Design and implement complex manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control.

  • Improve facilities layout of production floor space to establish maximum utilization of equipment.

  • Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve products or reduce costs.

  • Conducts analysis of manufacturing processes and equipment to diagnose failures.

  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control cost reduction inventory control through the application of Lean principles.

  • Develop tools that enable manufacturing aid process improvement or address safety concerns.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering field.

  • 2+ years of working experience with LEAN manufacturing required.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings specifications and technical data.

  • Must have strong analytical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

  • AutoCAD 2D experience.

  • Siemens NX experience is preferred.
