Chemist

Job Description

Seeking a skilled Chemist to join our team, focusing on the testing of raw materials and finished pharmaceutical and biological products. Responsibilities include following established test procedures using analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, and UV-VIS, alongside Computer Data Acquisition Systems (CDAS) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). The role demands adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), CGMPs, company quality standards, and FDA/EU guidelines. The ideal candidate will also manage testing schedules to handle a high volume of critical work without compromising result integrity and communicate effectively with lead analysts and colleagues.

Qualifications

o Experience in an analytical chemistry testing laboratory performing wet chemistry testing and instrumentation including HPLC, GC, AA and UV/Vis required.

o 4 year degree in chemistry or biochem with two or more year’s analytical chemistry laboratory experience.

Work Environment

The position is based in a FDA/USDA/EU regulated lab environment which includes about 30 people and is divided into three main areas: Raw Material Testing, Biological Testing, and Pharmaceutical Testing. The lab is a crucial part of quality control, handling incoming raw materials and finished products. Due to the nature of quality control and the final checks before products can be shipped, the environment can be fast-paced and stressful at times, with frequent deadlines and the need for adaptability. Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM.
