Actalent Utility Field Technician in Madison, Wisconsin
Description:
Mi-Tech offers a broad range of professional, engineering and technical services to the telecommunications and power delivery markets. We have a current opening for a Field Technician. At Mi-Tech, we support our customers and stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all of our services, which include: Communications Design Services, Energy Distribution Services, Utility Pole Inspection, and Environmental Services.
Responsibilities:
• This person will be going out into the field with another technician to collect data off of utility poles. Taking pictures, Using GPS units to take measurements and taking physical measurements of different components / on the poles. They will be out in the field 60-80% of the time and in office the remainder of the time, loading that data into their software. It will give them a yes or no on whether the pole is able to be loaded with new wire or if it needs to be replaced. They will then submit that into their tracking system and from there it will get accepted or kicked back. They will also do some design work.
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Travel, including overnight travel is required
