Job Title: Underground/Utility Estimator

Job Description

  • As an Underground/Utility Estimator, you will be tasked with supporting project managers and leadership on underground/utilities projects. You will estimate labor and material costs, and communicate financial costs and project timelines to the operations teams. You will gather proposals, blueprints, specifications and related project documents. One of your key responsibilities includes obtaining bids from vendors and subcontractors, identifying qualified subcontractors, and negotiating prices. You will analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services. You will conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc. It's crucial that you understand customer requirements/specifications to accurately estimate a project. You will prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. You will also prepare reports, quotes and estimates that detail the cost of a project in a proprietary system or bid2win. You will consult with clients, vendors and personnel in other departments to discuss cost estimates and resolve cost-related issues. You will prepare relevant and reliable forecasts, conduct risk analysis activities, and build and maintain relationships with key customers and vendors.

Hard Skills

  • 1+ recent years of estimating experience on energy, underground utility, earthwork, or commercial construction projects

  • Experience with Bid 2 win

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Maple Lake, Minnesota.

Work Environment

This position is onsite in Maple Lake, MN - may be able to do a light hybrid schedule once trained. You will be reporting to the VP of communications.
