Description:
Join a dynamic team at our aerospace and defense facility in Merritt Island, Florida, where you will play a pivotal role in the manufacturing process. As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the production of high-quality aerospace components. This role requires a strong background in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and a passion for excellence in the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities:
Develop manufacturing processes and procedures for the production of aerospace components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Collaborate with design engineers to optimize component designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address manufacturing issues and non-conformances.
Work closely with production teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure on-time delivery of products.
Create and maintain documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Support the qualification and validation of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Six Sigma certification.
Experience with aerospace materials and specifications (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP).
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for aerospace manufacturing (e.g., FAA, ITAR).
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
