Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Description

The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, including troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, and more. You will also collect and store specimens according to established procedures, explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection clearly and courteously, and ensure compliance with all physicians' orders. Additionally, you will match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order, and ensure 100% accuracy in all processes. You will also package specimens for transport, store specimen samples according to required temperatures, and attend annual department trainings. Answering telephone calls and reading laboratory results to satisfy inquiries is also part of the role.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Work Environment

Monday - Friday plus every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
