Actalent Test Technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Job Title: Test TechnicianJob Description
Plan, build, conduct, and monitor all standard and complex tests, including the development of automated accelerated system and component endurance tests. Assist in the design and assembly of new automated test fixtures, as well as repair and improve existing ones. Maintain accurate test records to improve current test processes and quality. Monitor active testing for signs of failure or problems. Apply Strain Gauges, Pressure Transducers, Thermocouples, Flow Sensors, Load Cells, and other instrumentation. Document and communicate all test results to Test Engineers and Test Requestors, utilizing basic statistical and/or graphical methods to summarize data.
Responsibilities
Plan, build, conduct, and monitor standard and complex tests
Develop automated accelerated system and component endurance tests
Assist in designing and assembling new automated test fixtures
Repair and improve existing test fixtures
Maintain accurate test records to improve test processes and quality
Monitor active testing for signs of failure or problems
Apply Strain Gauges, Pressure Transducers, Thermocouples, Flow Sensors, Load Cells, and other instrumentation
Document and communicate test results to Test Engineers and Test Requestors
Utilize basic statistical and/or graphical methods to summarize data
Essential Skills
Experience in test execution, mechatronics, and industrial equipment
Test development knowledge
AAS or diploma with relevant work experience
6+ months experience in testing or related work in automotive, engineering, manufacturing
Mechanical aptitude demonstrated through work or hobbies
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic
Associate of Science degree in a technical or related engineering field preferred, but not required
Previous experience in test within a product development environment is preferred
Experience installing and monitoring Strain Gauges, Pressure Transducers, Thermocouples, Flow Sensors, Load Cells, and other instrumentation
Experience with HALT chambers is highly desired
Work Environment
1st shift, flexible schedule. Regular test team works from early to late, ensuring employee presence the majority of the time. Position is open due to a cost-driving initiative affecting multiple areas. Support test set up and execution of approximately 50 active tests. Opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in autonomous cleaning equipment and scrubbers. Potential for extension based on performance.
