Actalent Hiring A Cytotechnologist in Mount Kisco, New York

Job Title: CytotechnologistJob Description

As a Cytotechnologist, you will perform technical laboratory testing with a primary focus on ThinPrep Paps (GYN), which constitute 90% of the testing. This role requires conducting laboratory tests and procedures independently with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include documenting daily quality control, corrective actions, performing calibrations, linearity testing, and proficiency testing. You will be responsible for entering and verifying laboratory results in the LIS, assisting in training and orientation of departmental personnel, and resolving technical testing issues. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and evaluating test results for accuracy, collecting data, preparing reports, maintaining inventory, and ensuring patient confidentiality.

Hard Skills

  • Cytotechnologist certification

  • ASCP certification (preferred)

  • 1+ years of experience in lab testing

  • BS degree in medical technology or science fields

  • NYS license

  • Proficiency in ThinPrep Paps

Soft Skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 5 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Mount Kisco, New York.

Work Environment

Flexible shift options with potential for 4, 10-hour shifts or 3, 12-hour shifts, although not guaranteed. No weekend work required. The role involves a full range of body motion, frequent standing, and walking, lifting items up to 30 pounds, and requires visual acuity and normal color perception. Work environment includes exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, and conditions common in a medical group and laboratory setting.
