Job Title: Phlebotomist
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood collections by venipuncture, handling various specimen collections, and ensuring accurate data entry and billing processes. You will work closely with patients and medical staff to prepare specimens for testing and maintain accurate records.
Responsibilities
Perform blood collections by venipuncture
Collect and store specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and more
Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely
Process billing information and collect payments when required
Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy
Package specimens for transport
Maintain patient and specimen information logs
Essential Skills
2+ years Phlebotomy experience
Venipuncture
Specimen collection
Blood draw
Test ordering
Paperwork processing
Specimen processing
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Data entry
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Phlebotomy certification (preferred)
2+ years work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting
High School Diploma or GED
Work Environment
These are all first shift roles supporting either out patient labs or provider offices
