Job Title: Sr. Structural Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Structural Engineer with over 10 years of experience in building technologies and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. The ideal candidate will be proficient in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber construction and well-versed in building code requirements. The selected candidate will lead projects related to the development of designs for new construction and renovations of existing structures. While not required, experience in construction or stormwater management design is a plus.
Responsibilities
Project management for assigned projects
Client contact and communication for assigned projects
Budget management for assigned projects
Scheduling for assigned projects
Overall workload management
Design work involving wood, concrete, and steel
Preparation of inspection specifications, bidding, and contract administration
Regulatory façade inspections projects
Regulatory structural inspections projects
Essential Skills
PE license
10+ years of experience in building-related investigation and structural design (wood, steel, and concrete)
5+ years of experience in inspection fieldwork evaluation (NJ structure, façade, and/or building envelope)
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience with standard engineering software
Working knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC) in multiple states
Experience with structural analysis and design programs such as STADD and AutoCAD
Ability to work independently and self-motivated

Structural engineering

Proficiency in AutoCAD, STADD, and structural analysis
Experience with steel structures, wood structures, and SkyCiv
Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices
Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices to complete assignments
Works on major projects or several projects of moderate scope with complex features
Work Environment
This position is 100% fully remote with typical working hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM. Department meetings are held virtually at 9 AM. Occasionally, site visits require wearing a logo item such as a lanyard with ID, safety marker vest, or hardhat.
