We are seeking a talented Mechanical System Design Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing industrial laundry equipment with a focus on material handling systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure a seamless design process and support various departments by providing technical expertise.
Responsibilities
Design industrial laundry equipment focusing on material handling equipment.
Understand and interpret customer requirements and translate them into project and product specifications.
Collaborate with a cross-functional team of electrical, software, and controls engineers for a concurrent design approach.
Act as a liaison to Purchasing, Production, Sales, and Product Support departments by providing technical support.
Participate in lab testing and field trials.
Travel up to 5% of the time.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and CAD software.
Experience in designing rail systems, conveyor systems, and industrial equipment.
Material handling design expertise.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 2-4 years of prior experience in the design of industrial equipment.
2+ years of experience in design/application engineering.
3D modeling skills (Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks preferred).
Experience in pneumatic and hydraulic system design.
Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred.
Experience in lean manufacturing and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
CFD and FEA analysis experience.
Experience with material conveying and bulk material handling strongly preferred.
Electro-mechanical design experience.
ERP and PLM/PDM software knowledge, especially Autodesk Vault.
5-10 years of experience.
Work Environment
You will work primarily in an office environment as part of a team of about 45 engineers, including software, mechanical, and electrical engineers. Occasional travel (approximately 15%) for site survey visits is expected.
