Actalent Construction Cost Manager in Phoenix, Arizona
Description:
The main function of a non-IT project manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as engineering, research and development, financial systems and product roll-out, etc or any other non-IT based project. They will be working on data center construction projects in the local area. Looking for someone who is willing to work on strategic initiative on metro allocation RFP for various general contracting services in the Americas. They will work on proposing RFPs on staffing fees, proposals, and work on doing a quick turn on the negotiation process.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals.
Manage the Preconstruction process from project onset to contract execution.
Present and explain proposals, reports and findings to internal stakeholders.
Analyze construction data, plan and assess the feasibility of projects.
Confer with internal stakeholders to discuss project specifications and procedures.
Review and make recommendations to achieve project cost and schedule milestones.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
Work independently and manage one’s time.
Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
Knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio etc.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, construction management, construction engineering or related field preferred.
2-4+ years of experience in construction project management required. Understanding RFP, RFQ, and procurement items.
Construction engineering experience preferred.
PMI or PMP certification preferred.
Estimator mindset, experience interpreting cost and data very well.
