Job Title: Structural DesignerJob Description
Provide structural design support to the project management and engineering team for a Pulp and Paper plant located in Longview, WA. Responsibilities include collaborating with multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) to brainstorm solutions, assist in planning for operational shutdowns, and ensure constructability. Daily tasks involve utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD, CADworkx Structure, and Bluebeam to perform structural designs and analysis. This role requires close collaboration with the Mechanical group during the initial phases of projects.
Hard Skills
Structural design on heavy industrial projects
Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, CADworkx Structure
3D modeling of structural steel
Structural detailing for industrial projects including pipe supports, bridges, and foundations
Soft Skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams
Problem-solving skills and innovative thinking
Strong organizational skills
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully remote position.
Work Environment
The position is remote-based with a preference for candidates located in the Pacific NW or near an airport due to periodic site visits, primarily along the west coast. Site visits usually do not exceed two nights. The work environment is traditional, with a history dating back to the 70s, and involvement from the founders and owners.
