Actalent Civil Engineer in Redlands, California
Southern California based Civil Engineering consulting firm serving Special Districts, Regional Agencies, and Municipalities in Southern California’s public sector is seeking to two Civil Engineers in the capacity of Plan Checkers to support local municipalities. The successful candidate will demonstrate independent judgment, initiative, and the ability to achieve project objectives while working at the agency office as needed.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Independence and Collaboration: Work independently with limited supervision.
Collaborate with municipal agency staff and utilize reference documents alongside project plans and specifications.
Perform minimal work in the agency office.
Plan Check and Design Evaluation: Conduct plan checks for Water, Recycled Water, and Sewer plan set submittals.
Verify accuracy of design and adherence to agency guidelines, standards, specifications, and checklists.
Evaluate design for constructability, maintainability, and operability of pipelines.
Project Management: Track project budgets and prepare construction cost estimates.
Interface with agency staff, inspectors, developers, engineers, and the public.
Manage tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and coordinate schedules for concurrent projects.
Conduct site visits and meetings with applicants.
Monitor project milestones throughout the plan check and construction cycle.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required).
Professional Engineering License (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of relevant civil engineering, plan check, or pipeline design experience (preferred).
Additional Information:
Compensation: $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
