Actalent Mechanical Engineer III in Redmond, Washington

Looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing Satellite Company team in Redmond, WA!

Job Description

We're seeking a highly skilled and analytical Mechanical Engineer III to lead in the development of 3D and 2D mechanical designs specifically for manufacturing GSE for satellite systems in Siemens NX. This role requires an individual who can excel in a fast-paced environment, working on both prototype and production-level designs, and collaborating effectively with various spacecraft design and integration teams. The successful candidate will also handle related analysis tasks and should be adept at solving unique problems on a significant scale with a high level of autonomy.

Hard Skills

  • BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent

  • 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience

  • Proficient in MCAD software, 3D modeling, and 2D drafting

  • Experienced in designing and drafting with NX

  • Skilled in prototyping and implementation

  • Knowledgeable in production fixturing and tooling

  • Experienced in DFM and manufacturing process development

  • Proficient in GD&T and tolerance analysis

  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM

  • Knowledge of Ansys Finite Element analysis tool

  • Experience in aerospace systems development, test, and deployment

  • Use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Ability to lead interdisciplinary discussions

  • Strong time and task management skills

  • Adept at manufacturing decision-making

  • Ability to reach optimum system-level trade-offs

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Redmond, Washington.

In office with design and production team
