Job Description: Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our new product development group. In this role, you will work closely with and under the guidance of a tenured Engineer to develop advanced mechanical designs for standard and custom plastic assembly products. Your focus will be on meeting specifications, schedules, and cost requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced mechanical designs for standard and custom plastic assembly products.

  • Spend a minimum of 75% of your time on development work, with the remaining time dedicated to engineering support duties.

  • Evaluate and select components and materials used in products to improve reliability, robustness, and quality of design.

  • Create and maintain documentation necessary for product development and manufacturing that conforms to industry standards.

  • Run lab experiments and testing, document and analyze results.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).

  • Hands-on 3D CAD design skills with 3-8 years of experience.

  • Experience in designing industrial equipment.

  • Proficiency in Inventor or Creo.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in custom automation is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a plus.

  • Motion systems control knowledge is a plus.

  • A hands-on approach to problem-solving and a passion for working on mechanical projects in your free time.
