Job Title: Animal Lab TechnicianJob Description
As an Animal Lab Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Your duties include changing cages and racks, delivering food and water according to established procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the cleanliness of animal housing areas as per standard operating procedures and federal and state regulations. You will be responsible for record keeping duties such as per-diems records, animal health surveillance, feed logs, temperature/humidity charts, animal receipt and disposition logs and other duties as assigned. Under the direction of the Animal Resources Supervisor or assigned lead, you will need to perform all duties within the scope of the job description for Assistant Animal Technicians. You are expected to identify problems, remedy and report them immediately, ensuring the proper care and use of animals. You must be able to perform some technical procedures required to support the research effort. This position requires heavy manual labor.
