Job Title: PhlebotomistJob Description
As a Phlebotomist, you will assist in performing various assigned duties, including troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. Your responsibilities will include blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, and updating patient information. You will also be tasked with collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, explaining the venipuncture process clearly and courteously, and demonstrating proper technique using straight or butterfly needles. It is crucial to fully understand and execute all physicians' orders, match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, and ensure specimens are properly labeled and stored. You will package specimens for transport, maintain the integrity of specimens, comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, and handle inquiries via telephone.
