Actalent MEP Project Manager - Data Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Position Overview: The MEP Project Manager (Sr. PM) will plan and lead key projects or multiple projects from inception through deployment, providing day-to-day management and oversight of project resources, tasks, issues, timelines, cost, and scope. In addition to managing projects, a MEP PM is responsible for:
200 Million Dollar Data Center (multiple phases) - 180MGW
Ensuring the success and profitability of projects
Managing project financials, including fee retention
Achieving client satisfaction
Leading by example and promoting company values
Guiding and mentoring project management staff for career advancement
Building and fostering relationships with owners, design partners, subcontractors, and suppliers
Championing company initiatives
Qualifications:
Required:
Four-year degree in Construction Management or a related field
15+ years of related experience, including experience with self-perform capabilities
Proven experience in building strong partnerships and trust with external partners, including owners, owner’s representatives, design firms, and subcontractors
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Thorough and detail-oriented
Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints
Self-starter and motivated with minimal supervision
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel
Preferred:
Estimating and field experience
Scheduling experience
Office and Travel:
Office: Various job sites and/or corporate/regional offices.
Travel: In addition to regional meetings, overnight travel may be involved.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Pursuit, Preconstruction, and Business Development:
Lead responses to RFPs with Marketing
Lead interview preparation
Lead preconstruction efforts
Establish, maintain, and build client relationships
Establish, maintain, and build design partner relationships
Establish, maintain, and build owner’s representative relationships
Lead and coordinate page turn
Identify and pursue leads prior to RFPs being issued; assist in acquiring new work
Ensure scope, budget, and schedule alignment throughout the preconstruction process
Promote other company services
Self-Performed Work:
Oversee quantity take-offs and assist in estimating labor production, materials, and equipment
Understand warehouse equipment, rentals, small tools, services, and costs
Oversee implementation of PACE preparation and projections
Scope bid materials (concrete, rebar, brick, etc.)
Approve Critical Path Method schedules for our work
Estimating and Bidding:
Review estimates prepared by project managers and estimating teams
Lead estimate presentations to owners/design teams
Review proposed subcontractors before presenting to owners
Final review and signing of subcontractors
Scheduling:
Act as Last Planner coach/champion
Lead preconstruction scheduling efforts
Review and oversee construction schedules
Project Oversight:
Ensure proper project staffing and resource involvement
Review and understand project financial condition and profitability (PACE)
Ensure safety protocols are in place and adhered to
Conduct regular jobsite walks with project staff
Understand the requirements of owner and subcontractor contracts
Project Management Oversight:
Coach and mentor project management staff
Understand specific training needs of staff
Review and understand global project management staffing needs and available resources
Ensure project management staff is mentoring at all levels
Post-Construction:
Ensure cost history information is uploaded
Follow up with owners on lessons learned, strengths, and weaknesses
Ensure internal “lessons learned” meetings are held
