Description:

Level I Sr. Job Captain

Non registered graduate with 8-10 years of experience or recently licensed architect with 6-8 yrs of experience, responsible for significant aspects of projects, including production of multiple projects. Primarily responsible for training job captains.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversight & creation of client specific drawing templates utilizing AutoCAD or REVIT.

• Implement and manage QA/QC of architectural deliverables.

• Oversight & management of a team of job captains.

• Responsible for understanding and implementing project specific design and program requirements.

• Work in conjunction with Project Manager to meet scheduled deliverables, Production of Construction Documents and other deliverables.

• Coordinate deliverables for multiple projects and programs.

• Quantify Extra Work Authorizations related to original contracted scope of work.

• Review and respond to City/Planning/GC comments.

• Delegate and distribute tasks to Job Captains.

• Advanced knowledge of code. Able to assemble CDs with limited oversight. Able to recognize code violations and implement solutions.

• Advanced knowledge of Building construction & Building systems. Able to develop details with minimal direction.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Good technical knowledge of construction documents and building department expectations related to construction documents.

• Excellent written and verbal Client/GC/Consultant/Agency communication skills.

• Knowledge of all aspects of architectural practice.

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

• Strong organizational skills, a self starter and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

• Highly motivated to meet project deadlines consistently in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to be flexible and adaptable.

• Strong team building abilities.

• Ability to mentor job captains.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture – Master’s degree a plus. Architectural license is preferred but not required.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT & Microsoft office a must. Proficiency in rendering software a must.

• Minimum 8-10 years experience in Architectural Services.

• Previous experience in tenant improvement & commercial projects preferred.

• Experience with permit expediting and architectural planning required. Level II.

• Responsible for understanding and implementing project specific design and program requirements.

• Responsible for creating program procedures for team to follow.

• Assist PM in managing client specific program needs.

• Assist PM in indentifying staffing needs.

• Assist PM with project schedules.

• Assist PM with project budgets & Billings.

• Advanced knowledge of Building construction & Building systems. Able to develop details without direction.

• Advanced knowledge of building code and accessibility on multiple project types.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Design)

• Seamless integration into the design team through contribution of creative design solutions.

• The ability to actualize conceptual ideas of the Sr Design Lead into viable design development quality plans & details.

• Able to interact with vendors to obtain required specifications, installation & pricing information for development of details.

• Responsible for communication with the production team to ensure that all design elements are implemented into the design development & construction documents.

• Responsible for identifying and developing design deliverables and presentation material with Sr Design lead. Able to develop task lists and schedule based on required deliverables.

• Proficiency in rendering software (Revit, photoshop, 3d max, artlantis, sketch up, V-ray, lumion) required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
