Actalent Operating Room Nurse Manager in Waterbury, Connecticut

Job Summary: The Operating Room Nurse Manager is responsible for the administration and management of the operating room, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role involves overseeing the daily operations, managing staff, and coordinating resources to maintain efficient and effective surgical services. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Provide 24-hour management and oversight of the operating room. Serve as a role model for professional nursing practice. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with the Chief of Anesthesia and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Staff Management: Supervise and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, operating room technicians, and other support personnel. Facilitate staff development and education programs. Develop staffing patterns and schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of resources. Patient Care: Assign nursing care based on patient needs and staff qualifications. Ensure adherence to patient care standards and professional practices. Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives. Administrative and Fiscal Management: Prepare and manage the operating room budget, including personnel and material resources. Monitor financial performance and implement cost containment strategies. Analyze trends and take appropriate actions to maintain fiscal integrity. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with state laws, regulatory agencies, and hospital policies. Implement and monitor infection control practices. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
