Job Description

· Perform on-site observations of steel construction projects.

· Consistent communication with construction managers and construction crew to observe the

quality of the steel erection.

· Responsible for reporting and tracking any discrepancies through the completion of the project.

· Authority to reject and resolve conflict within scope of authority.

Qualifications

· Successful candidate must hold a current AWS-CWI or ICC-S1 & S2 certification.

· 5+ years of experience as a welding inspector or in a quality control position is preferred.

· Proficient in reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications with a minimum qualification level of Level I for MT, PT, or UT.

· Experience in the construction or fabrication industries along with an Associate Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Construction Engineering is preferred.

· Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.

· Valid driver’s license with motor vehicle record in compliance with Company and DOT policies.

Job Type

This is a contract to hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s) before transitioning to the engineering firm as a direct employee. On contract this person will receive access to full benefits (medical, dental, vision), PTO, holiday pay and 401k.
